Hell, I never believed WMD's were the real reason from the get go. Getting a military foothold in the middle east because of oil concerns is my guess. Anyone who thinks the US is "pulling out" isn't really thinking. It's the new South Korea IMHO. A personal grudge because the Saddam regeime tried to assasinate his dad probably plays a part too.

Though we've been duped, I can't say I'm sad to see Saddam go. His regieme was very cruel and sadistic. Rape, murder, and torture without repercussion were rights many of them seemed to enjoy regularly.

Not to be callous about the loss of life, but we'd be there sooner or later because of oil anyway. Much more of the world is moving to fossil fuels, and it's only going to get worse. If you think they're all not willing to fight for it, you're nuts.
