I'm not asking for moral justifications or rationalizations. I have no qualms about clamming up and I'm not asking for you to tell me it's okay (because franky, I don't care too much whether you think it's okay). I'm asking for opinions on what people would do in such a situation - keep the bonus box or return it for the less valuable one they really wanted in the first place.

    But thanks for the lecture.

Maybe I'll just hit the exchange forum and see if anyone wants to trade a fiver of the Padrons for a fiver of the PIs.

"due to an unspoken agreement with my wife, my cigar budget is blown for awhile".
hummmm I am trying to get a visual since there no sound but maybe it just better to let it go.

I also would like to point out I do not think Alan was giving you a lecture. What I do think is they ran out of what you ask for like Shelby suggested and substituted the higher end box for your troubles.

Why in the hell would you even post shit like this if you don't care. You want a fuckin lecture...I ain't even started on your disrespectfull dishonest ass.

Did you expect the vendor in question to be honest with you? Do you not think you owe him the same courtesy?

And then you disrespect Alan...I suggest you take a hike. You are not Cigar Smokers material.

No shit. If a vendor fucks up in his favor, I am sure as hell going to let him know. Same thing as if he fucks up in my favor. At least try to make things right, and not profit off other people's mistakes.

Wow - what an upstanding guy. He'd never take advantage of a vendor's mistake and goes on to call me a "scumbag" for not reporting what is essentially a $20 difference in merchandise. It's surprising, however, that he's such a staunch advocate of vendors and how they should never be taken advantage of, because as of four months ago, his position on the matter seemed somewhat different.

Now, I'm not judging Drew for doing a little happy dance for getting his cigars at half price. He has every right to be pleased with himself for saving $160 off of Famous's error. But it does seem like having posted that, he might not be quite so eager to pull out terms like "scumbag." It would seem that he doesn't hold himself to quite the same standard he holds others to. Hypocrite is a nasty word, so I wouldn't want to pull that out. Instead, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he just got carried away with the piling on (looking through his posts, I find a lot of that).

Sorry Drew. Didn't mean to single you out. Just making a point. Someone once said something about not casting the first stone. I find it's good advice.

Wow, you dug up an old post. However, if you knew what you were talking about, we called famous, and offered to pay the difference. They however are an upstanding vendor, said that it was their mistake, and said that they would honor the price.

    Try again dumbshit.

So what is it...20 dollar difference, 100 dollar difference or 50 dollar difference? You are not helping your situation scumbag.

Oh, and you know what I did with that fiver I got? I gifted 3 of them to various BOTL leaving me with 2.

Yes yes, you good, me bad. I got it. Seems to be the general theme of a lot of your posts.

I have just one question. Does the halo ever start to get heavy?

I can verify that, I believe it was written down so you can go back through the thread and find it. Ace, you are showing your true colors underfire. I reading through the first two pages you come across as an shameless asshole. I was going to quote you to prove my point, but between the others and you getting backed into a corner over this I think it is a waste of time or will fall on deaf ears.

Here's a great quote from Famous regarding the pricing issue:

We were overwhelmed with responses from people wanting to pay the full amount or make up our loss, It was amazing to see that there are so many honest people out there

Also, let's make one thing clear. I ordered a box of cigars from TNT that they list as a $130 retail. They sent me a box listed as a $150 retail (these figures can be verified on their own site - they're not figures I invented). Yes, that's more, but the $20 difference is hardly going to be an example of them getting bent over and screwed. Hell, that $20 is probably what it would cost them to ship me a return label to send the Padrons back and then to send a new box of PI.

So ... to suggest that I'm royally taking advantage of TNT here by not saying something is, to put it mildly, an overstatement.

I agree that it's ethically a gray area. But as I said, I wasn't looking to start an ethics discussion. I just wanted some thoughts on the situation as well as the cigars in question. Most of the posters who replied were kind enough to weigh in with those thoughts. A very few preferred to go straight to namecalling, which is unfortunate.

You may now commense casting the first stone.
