You can always just wait and seee what your humidity levels out to and add some more or remove some if you you are to high or too low.

beads shouldn't make your rh too high, they absorb humidity to keep it right around their rh setting.

2. Is 1lbs enough for a 100qt cooler?

i think they say 1/3 lb of beads will keep 50qts level... so thats 150qts of empty space... not sure how many qts it will keep level once you put boxes and sticks in it though...
