I don't know if this will work for a Toyota, but my daughter has a Nissan 240, and for some strange reason she has to either unlock her passenger side door, or open her trunk before she unlocks her driver's side door or starts the car. We bought the car used without the keyless fob, and about 3 months after we got it, it started acting up. I have no idea if this will work, but for a Nissan it works.
