I'm a full time student plus an ncaa athlete so I really do not have much time. I am going to order my humi right now..........
is the seasoning kit you can add on to it worth the 4 bucks?

Don't buy stuff to "season" your humidor, you just need some distilled water in a shot glass. If you want to wipe down the humidor with a damp paper towel (made damp with distilled water of course).
And, it's not just about when you can smoke, as you read, you'll soon find out that cigars taste better with age in almost every case. I've still got cigars from my original box purchases over 3 years ago. A cooler allows you to age all sorts of beautiful cigars for a very, very, very long time (they can go up to just about 50 years without going bad).

Well heres what I got. Ill start out small got a 50 ct. humi

2oz. of beads (recomended was 1 oz) and this hygrometer.

I hope that the hygrometer is good.
This should be a good start.
hydrometer is only as good as your calibration... make sure you calibrate it, and if its constantly not reading what the beads should be, recalibrate it to make sure its not the hydrometer... i use one of those heartfelt adjustables in my 150ct, but in my cooler, i use a $7 walmart job... i trust em both just the same though... i got a little 30ct humi to start with and it was a good size for a dorm room, just set it on a little end table i had set up... later, i picked up a 50qt cooler and stuck it in my closet with a pound of heartfelt beads as an expansion... worked fine, you'll be alright with that 50 even if you do need more room... just remember, Wal*Mart: 120qt cooler-- $43 ; digital hydrometer-- $7 ; add some beads and there ya go...
Awsome thanks a ton. You all were a great help
Welcome from NYCHere is my suggestion smoke the Tatuaje and get rid of the Macanudo ( or smoke it to find out what a sucky cigar tastes like ) . Once you have your cooler or humi set up and seasoned go to the newbiew sampler thread here and for $50-$60 you will get a smapler of great cigars that will vary in strength, taste, country of origion etc. When you will smoke those you will in my opinion be a BOTL and have a much better idea for your cigar prefferences

I think Ill try the mac just for the beginner experience.
Note to self: NEVER BUY SHITTY MACANUDO AGAIN. wow ok now to get some good mild cigars. I think I'll get some tomorrow.
Here you go >> http://www.cigarsmokers.com/t5661-ne...er-thread.html <<

Awsome thank you.
While looking for a sampler I came across the CI taster packs. I'm thinking of going with the Mild-Medium pack. But I am not sure because they offer just a mild pack as well.

or the mild

I was thinking the Mild-Medium just because it has 2 of what REV reccomended (Rocky Patel Conn.).
I also read somewhere that CI had a $15 8 cigars plus free humi deal. Is that still around? I think I would do that plus the taster sampler and just have 2 humi's...

Do the mild-med... its the same price but has better sticks, plus, then you dont have to figure out what to do with 2 mac cafes, which you'd be better ff using as door stops than smoking... FYI, the RP Conn.s that CI sells are a decent cigar, but not as good, IMO, as the RP vintage 99' Conn.s you'd find in a B&M.
Ok. I think I will do that, just so I have some cigars in the humi. plus it seems like a good deal. and it will help me get to know what I like and what not.
something to note, you said you were 20, CI has a 21+ policy... it sucks but its there... try famous-smoke.com or CubanCrafters.com (although CC only sells CC products)...
I've never heard anybody from my semi-limited exposure say anything bad about mac's, it usually quite the opposite.
I've heard the 5 Vegas Gold is a great/mild/cheap cigar...I'm probably having one tonight!

Must not have read much about them here... i probably like Macs more than most of the folks around here.... i'll admit the vintage is a good stick, just over priced... but the cafe, the cafe has no taste at all... very literally like cardboard. i think most folks just think they're too mild.
good deal, still suggest checking those other sites, they're pretty good too.
Awsome. Thanks
