For me the whole experience of smoking a cigar are all the experiences of the stick. The smells before you toast it. The bouquet it gives off as you smoke it. The tastes on the tongue as you smoke it. And lastly the aftertaste that dances on the tongue long after it has been smoked. I try to enjoy all of these things when I smoke a cigar.

Try and look at the aftertaste as part of the experience. If the aftertaste is something you are not enjoying, switch sticks and experience as many different sticks until you find one that finishes the way you want it.

Thats the beauty of this hobby. One gets to try many different things and sees what they like and what they don’t like…I know what I like in a cigar but more importantly I know what I don’t like.

If after all this you still find yourself not liking the aftertaste of a cigar but still enjoy the act of smoking it… Buy yourself a tooth brush and carry it around with you. I also find that Certs help a lot too.
