Ya know - you're absolutely correct. In my world - friends don't start trashing friends in public. But some just can't seem to resist for their own selfish reasons. Some apparently want to discard friendships that easily.

They also don't instigate ban polls because they feel all butt-hurt over a percieved insult.

I don't so much mind because I like to know where my friends stand with me - that's why I've been with my wife for over 27 years - I always know where I stand with her, even in the heat of battle (she supports me when I need support - I support her when she needs support - and we both know when we're crossing lines and avoid doing it)

I've asked privately for what other members are asking for publically. Apparently some just don't give a damn what me or others think. It's interesting that some (and especially ONE) are interpreting what they're hearing as support for their cause. But - in reality - I don't read it that way - and I can't believe they (and that ONE) isn't.

I think there are some here who have missed the point...You and CC. See, it isn't about support for me, as much as it is about not agreeing with you and cc's reasons for this whole fiasco. You and CC, joined arguments in the political forum that you knew full well could, and probably would, get heated. When they did, you cry foul, and start a ban poll.
