SmokinDVM Ban Poll

I'm not voting because I feel like I don't really have a place to say much since I'm a newb but I would like to say that I journeyed over to this board because it seemed really cool and drama free but then I bump into something like this and go WTF.

I didn't go back and re-read the whole thread in the Politics forum and have skimmed this one but damn people.... isn't this board suppose be about the smokes... not the BS.

I pulled up all of SmokinDVM's posts and the ones outside the Politics Forum make him look like an outstanding member that contributes to this board... yet he's on the ban block. When I first saw the thread title I honestly thought it was going to be a joke, guess I was wrong.

I am very glad to see it was a LANDSLIDE to keep him around.

IIRC there is an ignore list on this board, if you are one of the select few that has such a problem with him, maybe you should put the list to use, or if it's only in the political forum... avoid it. If you want to do neither of those and feel yourself getting incredibly heated about something... step away from the computer and quit being an internet warrior and go have a smoke... since that's what this board is all about.

Don't be too concerned with this. It happens occasionally and it eventually goes away. There were still about 20+ other active threads just yesterday having to do with cigars and cigar smokers. There are new members coming in all the time, cigar reviews going on, cigar passes, trades happening, members contributing to cigars for troops, photos, humor, etc. The good thing, as has been pointed out before, is that the disagreements usually stay in the political forum. And what's even better is that it seems if it does spill over to other groups, it gets squelched pretty quick. This thread, I think, is very active because many of us can't understand, as you pointed out, why anyone would start a ban on another member who is actively participating in every one of the cigar related activities because they disagree with his posts in a political forum. Some don't care, but others do, and they want to put their own $.02 in.

Sure the political forum gets nasty, but the rest of the board is alive and well.

By the way, you ain't gettin' no change from your .02
