That's exactly what I've been doing since I was 20.... So Yoga is the perfect compliment to my Weight Training. The Yin and the Yang. It really opens everything up, not only physically but mentally too. And the breathing techniques which are practiced also can have amazing benefits.

Actually, I've lost 40 lbs since I started Yoga in January... Hahaha. I was 230 now I'm down to 190 But I've retained my upper body size, and am flexible as shit, lol

Sounds good. I need to try that out. Just landed in LA for the week for work.If I'm going to pick this up maybe I should try it here so if (when actually) I make a fool of myself no one back home will know.

I wouldn't mind being able to do both...

This is a very complex posture. Do lots of core work. Try to find the P-ninety X yoga workout. It helps build strength in all of the common Ashtanga postures and adds balance for heavy lifting. jmho. Kicks your a$$ too.

Sorry - I missed this post earlier.

I was introduced to yoga about two years ago by a fellow runner while recovering from a muscle injury. At first, I was only interested in stretching routines. Now, I think I understand the general core requirements and balance of yoga. There is no way I will ever achieve the level of Ms. Budig. Who has that kind of time? I remain interested in simple postures and training.

Speaking of Kathryn, she is quite an athlete. Thanks for posting up the link to her y'all-toob page. I watched a few of her recorded classes and I was very impressed with her style. She seems to be very grounded and a practical coach. It's good to know there are a few pros in the field that can teach without getting too caught up in the "Eastern Mindset." jmho.

BTW - I'm still just practicing.
