    Hi, ggiese.

You found that old thread, I see. I tried to learn from the experience, I hope you can tell. It is true that the Cohiba and the Montecristo aren't as old as the others.

I realize this probably won't work here, but I thought it was worth a shot. Try to look at it from my point of view. I don't know much about the subject, but I'm trying to help my dad because he's not up to dealing with this anymore. The cigars are too valuable to just give away. I just want to find the best solution for our situation.

I'm in the Washington, DC area. I would be happy to meet any interested individuals in person.

I am glad to have the opportunity to use this board.

I am surprised dad has no contacts of his own like the shop owners where he kept them,or the shops patrons. How about friends he smoked with or collected with.
I am sure, being in NYC,dunhill staff can direct you,or someone else in nyc,to an appraiser of some sorts to better see what it is you have.Other than that,if you are willing to let someone meet up and have a look at what you have I dont know what else to say, other than make a creative ad and hit ebay up.I'd meet with you but I am inexperianced on old stock.

What you didnt learn from CP was that you didnt get personable with us.You need to gain some trust.I dont see how you didnt catch that the first time around, there were no hidden puzzles on what to do and what not to do.I can save you more grief, you can expect the same results on any one of the hundred or so cigar forums on the net. Now,you can make up your wrong doings or continue on with the same results, its up to you.

How are these cigars being stored now and at what conditions?

    Here is the CP thread:
    http://www.cigarpass.com/forums/inde...montecruz&st=0

Post #16 quotes his opening post that was deleted from that thread.
Inconsistancies in the offering were pointed out later in the CP thread and yet his offering here is a cut and paste from the Aug 2005 in CP.

Ultramerican's post here makes no sense from several different aspects-weird.

Its almost as if ultramerican/backdrifter/proto472 is too dumb to be a con man .

I'm happy to meet in person anyone who is a potential buyer. I have samples just to show. The rest are in PA in either a regrigerator or humidors.

Dunhill wasn't doing much business in cigars before they closed their humidors. They weren't able to sell them. They had a lot of extra cigars to clear out, just like these. They were appraised by their cigar guy. My dad has gotten rid of a lot of these through contacts, but a lot are still left over. Like I said, he's not up do dealing with this anymore. Ebay doesn't allow the sale of tobacco. The packaging has to have value as a collectible, moreso than the tobacco, to sell it there. That's what they say.

It looks like this isn't going to work here.

Sorry - late to the conversation. I'm in the DC area and would like to take a look. Will bring my digital camera. You'll either be exonerated or not. Or, you could send samples to one of the FOGs here at my expense for verification. If they're real, I'm sure there's interest. Either way, I'm calling you out. PM sent.
Look at that... I plumb got myself 5 raisins and 7 termites.
