There's only two kinds of cigars, the kind you like and the kind you don't.

Just for the record I'm not gonna get upset over political stuff. I know I'm not gonna change anybody's mind and they are not gonna change mine.

I'm quite happy in my intellegence or my ignorance...However you view it.

I agree that the Statue of Liberty should not be used as a religous object. That's rather absurd. But in this country you can make a worship symbol out of an elephant turd...You are free to do so.

I saw an Easter display this year that disturbed me. Just a mile or so away from me a fundamentalist Christian church erected three wooden crosses. They placed a youth from the church on each cross. They had youth dressed as Roman soldiers around the kids on the cross. As I drove by one youth had a fake spear and was holding it up to the guy playing Jesus on the cross.

They had two American Flags along with a Christian in the background of the display.

Now people in that church scare me to death. My granddaughter was in the car and saw this...She still talks about the guy with the spear. The flags in the background had no place there. They had no reguard for the public...Only reguard for getting their message out.

The city cops came out and directed traffic as the road became unpassable. The press came out, took interviews pro and con. It was all about publicity to intertwine church and state.

Mixing religion and government should not happen...But is is your choice to do it or not.

I'll be in Memphis this week...I'll see it for my myself.

Comparing Republicans to Muslims...Come on DVM. You can't sit there and say that.
Actually, the cross, and the fish symbol, were both taken from earlier pagan religions so it would be easier to absorb those people into "the fold". Same with christian holidays. Take christmas, for example, it was not the birthday of jesus. It was originally a pagan holiday and was usurped by the christians to be used as a recruiting tool.

I do agree that mixing religion and government shouldn't happen, and good politician should realize that some things that might be against their personal religious beliefs, are still better for the American people.

Why not compare repugs and radical muslims? At this point in history, their goals are essentially the same, the control of the people through a mix of government and religion, with the laws based more on religion than on what's best for all the people.

I'm glad you guys aren't going to get upset over this shit. Adults should be able to discuss politics and religion without getting their panties in a bunch. I don't agree with the mind changing stuff though. If you truly think you know it all, well, that's not really a good thing.

Besides, at the end of the day, after all the political debates, I'd still share a good drink and cigar with any botl.

Smokin... I agree with you in whole that the admin right now has too much religion involved in their politics. I still dont understand why a "free" country needs a god. But, the statue in your picture was made by a church. You cant blame the government for something that a private church is doing.

What an incredibly ignorant comment. 12,000 christian extremist build that abomination and you want to lump them in with the Republican Party??? Come on DVM, that's like me saying that every ultra liberal is your average card carrying Democrat.

If the point of your post was to point out how nuts these people are, that's fine with me , but if your goal was to take a pot shot at the GOP by liking them to these nuts then shove it

The GOP is dead and gone. It's been over-run with the religious right wack-jobs and their neocon suck-ups. I didn't say all registered repugs were like them. However, they all support the nut-jobs every time they vote for the neocons that pander to them, and are therefore tied up with the whole pile. So, I'm not saying the "GOP" is like them, I'm saying they are them. Now what was that about panties in a bunch?

    Empire,
Take a look at the religious attitudes, opinions, and actions of the present administration. That's why I include them in with these types of religious groups, because they have the same goals. Hell, dumbya claims to get his marching orders directly from god.
Anyone who claims that is seriously delusional, and has no business holding the position he does.

I know I'm going to piss off a few people however, screw it.

All these POS political posts coming on this board have NOTHING to do with cigars. I'm sick of seeing them. You want to post your political view, fine, go find a political board and post your views.

    I'll quote Hex..

Your political views whether right, left, up, down, over the hen who gives a crap…don't help us grow as a community.

If it helps us grow as a community, please post. However posting something as bait so you can spew your nonsense don't help the boards.

I am gonna add the rest of Hex's quote since I am sure there will be a great deal of hullabaloo over the section you quoted Lo.

I set up the Politics forum to deal with political issues related to Cigarsmokers.com. While I usually turn the other way when discussions turn to world issues, this really isn’t the place to discuss these types of matters. Cigarsmokers.com is a community meant to build camaraderie between fellow BOTL. Topics of politics and religion just cause more problems then they are worth discussing here.

I'm not going to argue whether he is the best or worse. That's not my place. I'll allow the Historians to decide that later. However, last time I check this board is Cigarsmokers.com not letbashbushbecauseIhatehisgutsect.com

None of these political posts have anything to do with Cigars. They don't help the community. I know I'm pissing people off. However, I also know that there are people that are also not happy. If you want to have a political debate...then have one. However, the discussions here are not debates. They are bashing of other members because “they don't like my views and everyone who is a Rep/Con/Right are all neonazi BS.” Debate...then debate. Name calling...that's not a debate. That's 12 year old BS. Don't like my view, fine.

However, I'm the one that's asking what this BOARDS admin is asking...

What does it have to do to better the community.

    I'm done.

What about Jimmy Carter? Didn't that guy give away the canal we built and let a bunch of criminally insane float into the country?

Just do what i do..... anytime that SmokinDVM posts anything in the "politics" forum.... I don't read it.

Believe it or not, that is what makes this Country so great. I have my views about the Government and different political figures... I choose not to discuss them here...

I do not like the way that DVM chooses to word any of his opinions about the Gov't or political figures, but it is his right...

Anything bad that happens in America.... DVM is gonna blame on the Republican party... The flooding in Binghamton.... I'm sure he can make that the fault of the "repugs" somehow....

I'm not big on doing reviews, tobacco doesn't taste like "cocoa" or "nutty" or "mocha" to me, it tastes like freakin' TOBACCO. I know what I like and I really don't care what other people think of other cigars. I've never read a review and said to myself "Wow, that sounds like a cigar I'd like to try!"

And, not to be outdone, I've located Bkcloud114's homepage.

And he's joined there by a slew of real smart folks.

Well, I think I'll exercise my First Amendment right, and not make a pilgrimage to this church.

Ironically, this particular icon is always instantly recognized as female. So, this particular church seems to be endorsing, at some level, (a return?) to worship of the sacred feminine.

So, I gotta say, the joke's on them.

And, I think I'll get some sleep.

Hey, I've worshiped the sacred feminine alot, and I don't remember any that were 72 feet tall and green.
