The biggest problem with lighting the wrong end is the risk of it unraveling.... There is no glue except on the cap and right around the cap. The same goes for cutting too much off the cap. You run the risk of it unrolling.... That is what I learnt after rolling some cigars in the D.R. at the Aurora cigar factory.

his cigar did have some serious unraveling problems. maybe you guys might know what you're talking about after all. since you guys have so much knowledge ... anyone know where I can get some good cubans here in the US, you know, the illegal kind? I did a search on it but didn't find anything. Thanks in advance!

I had some friends over for a bbq a while back. They saw that I was nubbing one, and I offered some to them. Two of them said, sure we'll smoke one. So I bring out a couple churchills, they look at em and say, uh can you cut one in half? I cringed, and passed them the cutter.Anyway, they enjoyed it, and with 1/2 as much waste, since they each only smoked about an inch.
