Yes, I can see that. And I've thought about it. My initial reaction was to return the cigars. But there are a few differences between the two scenarios that I see.
1) If they send me a box that is worth $20 less, that remains their mistake. This is not my mistake. Having quality control in a warehouse is a big part of any business - I know. If you don't pay for that quality control, you end up paying in other ways. This is true of any business.
2) The cost of shipping one box back to them, and them shipping the other box to me would just about be the difference in the valuation of the two boxes (again, assuming we're going by retail price and assuming that their retail price is proportional in how much they paid for the cigars).
I realize you may not agree with my reasoning here, and that's okay. I don't mind people disagreeing with me here. What I do mind is people making sweeping judgements and bringing out the namecalling. It's uncalled for.
I did want opinions, and I got quite a few of them. It's the judgements I could do without.
And there it is. A pity I responded as I went along, rather than reading the whole thing through. I was going to attempt to make this a rational discussion between adults. You apparently have no interest in that. A shame.
