August is quickly approaching. I'm not very familiar with the Houston area, so do any of you local BOTL recommend a good place for a HERF? I'll be in downtown Houston August 3 - 7th (probably with out a car). I was thinking the night of August 4th (Saturday) or August 5th (Sunday) would be best.
Let’s get some plans together.

Since I'm really new to the cigar scene, I don't know of many places downtown. But I'm sure you'll get info on that at the RTDA show.
I do know that Houston is one of those places where if you want to do much of anything, you NEED a car, or need to know someone who has a car.
I'm down for meeting up someplace, but again, don't really know where yet, especially downtown since I live in Clear Lake, about a half hour drive South. Maybe some of the other Houston guys can help with locations.

Not too many places left in Houston are cigar friendly. One that I know of is the Stags Head pub, it is not all that far from downtown, at 2128 Portsmouth 77098 if you want to google it.
Another one (I haven't been there in over a year, so don't know if they still allow smoking) is Brian O'Neills, a bit closer to downtown, 5555 Morningside 77005

Hey hex,
If we do end up finding a place to meet up, I can probably pick you up downtown if you need it, as long as you don't mind riding in an old POS Saturn.

Lets do a quick roll call on who's going to be able to make it. Cigar Jack mentioned several other people from some of the other boards / blogs are going to be in Houston as well.
Lets try to shoot for Saturday (August 4th) evening, if everyone's cool with that.
