Hell, there goes that stupid idea. I should not have had those after dinner drinks. Makes me think a lil funny sometimes.

I'm with Kevin7 on this one. I do not collect cigars to turn a profit down the road. Yes, I do collect cigars but for a different reason. I love to share with my friends. I am sitting on a box of LFD smokes that was made only for the B&M shop I go to. If I remember right, only like 36 boxes was made and all of them was sold with some allotted to being single stick sales. Each box contained 20 sticks. Let me tell you these little gems are gonna rock 10 years from now and it will be a real treat to share them with people as of right now, they are absolutely great smokes. I also like to share smokes that have been aged with others that will appreciate them and we work out a nice trade that both of us are happy with the terms. But never for profit as I see that as bad form.
I will say this. There are a few that do this on the cigar forums with pretty hard to find smokes so you are not the only one to have thought this.
I generally end up aging cigars by default, through not finding the time or a special occasion for the higher end / larger sticks (think LEs and and Torps). When I do finally get to them it is a real treat.
I thought it was a tampon joke!
Not only do individuals do this, but some on-line sites do as well.....case in point Oliva MB 1's and cigar.com!! I agree with K7 and Mr Peat, the reason to collect cigars, imho, is to share them and enjoy them yourself....not profit. This is the philosophy that I have had for many years in all my collections...brewery advertising, autographed hockey pucks, and now...cigars. I have some stuff that I could definitely sell for a gigantic profit, but that is NOT why I collected it in the first place and my intentions are to will it to my children or donate the things to a museum when I can no longer enjoy them, especially the brewery stuff.
Someday if I hit the lotto i will build a house with a celar to store vintage ports and a a room with enviromental control to store the Pre-Castro Cuban cigars. Oh yeah since I will have won the lotto the house will sit on a lot of property with a HERF house with room for 50 or so not too far from my main house.
But for now my humi and Monti # 2 will sufice![]()
I have some cuban cigars from 2001-2002. I never bought them with the intent of even aging them. I have thought about aging some just because they are supposed to taste better. To sell them for profit? Maybe if they were worth crazy mad money and I could reinvest the cash in a way greater quantity of cigars. I don't know though if cigars have specific aging points like wine where there is a consensus that they taste better at that point. Just my thoughts on the topic.
