First of all NH, my undergrad is from a private liberal arts university in Ohio...which was over $22k a year when I graduated 14 years ago. I understand the price of a good education.

Now, please explain to me what's up with all the name-calling on this board? Is there a tradition behind this? For instance, I was referred to as "Partjackassallstupid" and "Asshat". What the hell is that all about? I left that train of thought back in the third grade. Maybe all the namecalling made me not look at the reality and seriousness of this site, but instead view it as a joke. Maybe if most of you would keep the elementary school humor in your kids rooms and drop the retarded namecalling, outsiders (including myself) would take every single one of you as well as this message board much more seriously.

Until Sarge made a sincere and honest attempt at opening up my eyes, I viewed this message board and its members as a joke. As of right now, my opinion couldn't be any further from that.

In my line of work I know full well what a brotherhood is. I work with a bunch of guys I rely on for my life every day.

Granted the relationships on this board is not as strong as this but I have true brothers here. I have never met or spoke in person to many of them but we have an understanding. Something you obviously you don't have.

In our own way we rely on each other. We watch each other's backs. We speak a common language. We confide in each other. I have true friends here.

I think that is what a brotherhood is about.

I in no way believe this brotherhood degrades my other brotherhood. In fact this brotherhood offers me some degree of escape from the reality of my job. For that I am thankful.

I am not a firefighter nor policeman. As a member of this board I feel a true brotherhood. I have been accepted and put in my place in the same day; sometimes in the same sentence. Yes, this is an escape for me. Yet, the friendships I have forged here in a few short months over one common bond (cigars) surpass some of those I have had for years.

Guys like BPP,GG, Basil, Sarge, Hefty, K7, CC, DG, BK, Godfather, Drew, Hex, Kenyth, Cameron Couch, Propheitic Joe, 1101 and anyone else I may have forgotten are all men of great character. So are other BOTLs on different boards They will provide brutal honesty when needed, forgive you (if earned), and create an atmosphere of daily dialogue not to be found anywhere else. These people will give the shirts off of their backs to lend a hand.

I have had personal conversations with some of these gentleman that would rival anything a therapist could provide. A couple of these BOTLs I have had the pleasure to speak with over the phone, and a few more with phone numbers offered up in the event I need to talk. I hope to develop my relationship with each and every one of them further.

Based on your writings here, I highly doubt you would get along with most of us. Quit fooling yourself and move on to something more worthwhile for all. Thanks for stopping by.
