The recipient confirmed and knew it was coming right?

I would have dropped a thank you especially if I didn't know it was coming. I'd be more incline to be late on saying thank you on something I new was coming if I was busy. However, I would never ignore an email, PM's and posts, I might not check for awhile, but, an email is an every day thing.

I say OUT HIM..... just a mention of his name in a thread
I'm not big on doing reviews, tobacco doesn't taste like "cocoa" or "nutty" or "mocha" to me, it tastes like freakin' TOBACCO. I know what I like and I really don't care what other people think of other cigars. I've never read a review and said to myself "Wow, that sounds like a cigar I'd like to try!"

I agree, expose the person. You are a very generous BOTL to send the gift....failure to acknowledge it, AND post a public thank-you.....is not an oversight.

Is the person you did this for still active on the board?

If you haven't check their profile and see the last time they logged in.
Seatbelts save lives, my best friend and I are alive because of them.

Nobody is ever gone as long as there is someone to remember them.

You can't go wrong outing the guy. If there was some legitimate reason for his slackass remissness, you can always make it up with a couple more sticks. There is some obligation to the community to shine the light on this kind of shit. Hell, if he has a reason for not acknowledging the gift (hospitalized, on vacation on the Amazon w/o 'puter, etc.), I'll send make up sticks.

I agree that an acknowledgement of thanks is in order. I don't necessarily agree that it must be public...the cigar was gifted without board knowledge, the thanks doesn't have to be known by the board either.

True. A behind-the-scenes deal is all good, unless somebody fucks up, and is unwilling to clean up the mess. Then it becomes a community issue. IMO, even if the guy were to pm a late thankyou, then it's over. No need to spread it out then.

Point well taken, as well as Basil's follow up.
