    Went all kitchen bitch today:

Roast chicken* with under skin olive oil / soy sauce rub.
    Broccoli
    Mashed Potatoes

    Also made:
    Granola
    Chocolate Chip Cookies
    Quinoa salad
    Chicken Soup

*Yes, TGT, I am actually roasting it, not in the microwave. It's damp out today, so it'll make the kitchen nice.

Sounds awesome! I've never made my own granola, but have thought about it. A couple honey and oats bars are my typical weekday breakfast on the run.

My wife is cooking a traditional southern supper tonight.

Country Fried steak with white pepper gravy
    Mashed Potatoes
Turnip greens with hot pepper sauce
Great Northern Beans (odd that's a traditional southern thing IMO)
    Cornbread

I think I'll be needing a nap after dinner.

    That sounds delicious too.

    Here's my granola recipe:

    3 Cups Oats
    1/2 cup Pecans
    1/2 Cup Almonds
    1/2 Cup Walnuts
    1/2 Cup Wheat Germ
    1/2 Cup Ground Coconut
    1/2 Cup Sunflower Seeds
    1 Cup Honey
    1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil

Mix it all together, put it on an ungreased pan, evenly. Bake at 325 for 20min. In the last 5 min, start mixing it on the pan as it cooks out, or you get your desired "brownness" I'll admit, this part is slightly a pain in the ass, but you'll get the hang of it.

I will definitely try that, thanks. I like all of those ingredients.

Dinner was delicious of course. A lot of dishes to clean, but worth it.

Me and a friend needed some dinner before the Black Sabbath show last night. This seemed fitting.

Making puffed pastry wrapped fish fillets today and bylenes (potato pancakes)

This constitutes our fancy schmancy Christmas Eve dinner.

My Italian father-in-law came over and, as usual, made us something terrific to eat.

He flash-fried pork rubbed in a small amount of salt and cayan pepper. He then made a raspberry sauce with a variety of secret ingredients on which he bedded the pork with a fresh slice of kiwi on top. Sided with roasted asparagus and orzo pasta, it made quite a culinary delight. I was surprised by how much I loved the sweet and tangy with the pork; it was delicious.

I'm not much of a braggart, unless it's something I did, but damn this whole meal just came out awesome. I keep thinking about it. The salmon / tuna was totally delicious, and the rabe was a great compliment, as well as the rosemary potato wedges. Mmmmm. Oh, and I forgot to mention that wifey made a radish dip with cream cheese and butter that was really good with fritos. Think I might go snag some more now.

    The dip sounds good!

Grilled pork chops & sausage. Maybe I'll make something else to go with it...maybe not.
