    Default Cigarsmokers' Christmas Writing Contest

I received this PM from a member today:

    ---
    Encore please
    http://www.cigarsmokers.com/showthre...ight+christmas

Loved this last year.....any thoughts about a yearly version?
    ---

I doubt I will be writing out another version this year, but this got me to thinking about a contest. This is open to anyone in good standing. Write a poem, haiku, jingle, song or short story themed around cigarsmokers.com and/or the members here with the holiday season in mind. This can be as short as a sentence or as long as 5000 words. It can be serious or funny. It can be another version of the same thing. Just write!!!

The contest is open until midnight on Christmas. Post your entry in this thread. Shortly after the deadline, i will open up a private poll for people to vote for a winner. The winner will receive a nice package of premium and super-premium smokes. Trust me.. ..this will be worth your time!

Dang, I never saw that last year, that's awesome. You got a purdy mouth [no, this is not an entry]

That haiku is older than Jesus. You didn't write it, and it has nothing to do with CS. Looks like you're getting a hell of an education over there at Ohio State.

i am aware it is not original. the poem was intended as a sarcastic joke. thought everyone would get it b/c its so common.

CigarSmokers is a treasure chest - you have to unlock it
Otherwise you'll be smoking nothing but dog rockets.
But for your own sake, don't come here acting like a noob
Or you'll get shipped off like Elián in an innertube.
Failing to use simple things like the search function
Will get you cut up like ham at a luncheon.
Talking shit about other members, or just even hintin'
Will get you ridiculed like Hillary Clinton.
    Your bad rep will grow
    Like Pinocchio's nose
And we'll show you where to stick those glass-top Esplendidos.

I'm super bored at work today and for some reason I'm on a limerick kick, so here's another one.

Well its Christmas at C S dot com
We have lost our normal aplomb
    The mailman did cry
    And shrapnel did fly
Secret Santa has sent me a bomb

This is totally exempt from any compitition because it is plagiarized. But, I had to share it with everyone. So appropriate for a cool autumn evening.

    Light a Cigar

    Walking down the lonely street,
hearing the cobbles beneath my feet.
The sound echoes through the small lanes,
    some people looking through windowpanes.

I feel alone as I wonder the into the night,
stars above, no girl not feeling just right.
I pass a bar, hear the sound of laughter,
carried on walking might go back after.

Let out a sigh looking at the night sky,
so alone, feeling down, wondering why.
Thought I might go back to that happy bar,
instead leaned against a lamppost, light a cigar.

Here's something I wrote awhile back. This is not my contest submission, that will be coming in a day or so, just thought you might enjoy this little ditty:

    There in my driveway sits
    a damn dirty car
    I noticed it Saturday
    While smokin' a cigar

    I saw a big bucket
    a rag and the hose
    I considered them all while
    blowing smoke from my nose

    The bucket was empty
    the hose nicely coiled
    Is my smoking experience
    about to be foiled

    No way my good friend
    this moment won't be wasted
This stick is one of the best
    that I've tasted

    I'll enjoy my smoke and
    this feeling will pass and
    That damn dirty car
can just kiss my fat a##

    It'll be there tomorrow or
    even the next day
    But I'm not gonna
    throw this cigar away

Christmas time once again, another year over and a new one to begin. The Family at CS .com has welcomed me in and many a stick I have tasted because of them.

NHCIGARFAN, CHEFCHRIS, BASIL, JFELLOWS and ASHAULER too have kept my Noob Ass in line as we all know that’s true.

Trades here and there with new BOTL have made me learn and appreciate the strength of loyalty.

Knowledge, new insight and tips I have learned from SPIFFYKYLE, MITHRIL, GUADO and HEFTYSMOKES to name just a few.

Being Secret Santa to SLCRAIDERS was GREAT and we should thank DREW_GORING for making it safe.

WOXOF will be a Dad to a Boy or a Girl as we all wonder what sticks he will pass out to the world.

I just want to take this short time to say…Marry Christmas to you all and thanks for letting me stay.
